Thank you very much everyone for making this historic day, and I must thank The Chairman – Fund Raising Planning Committee – Engr. Olusegun Okebiorun, for the excellent organization of this event. I must also thank our invited guests – associates and friends who are here to support us financially from across the world.
Our core mission is to tell our amazing story and celebrate our achievements of rebuild, refurbish and refresh [3Rs] for the next leap into the future as we mark our School’s 60th Anniversary in January, 2023. The 3Rs concept is hinged around the key stakeholders, the good people of Osu town, the government and the Old Students’ Association working with the management of our school.
The fundraiser is put together as part of efforts to improve infrastructure in the school and enhance teaching and learning. AHSOSA under my watch, is irrevocably committed to the progress of the school and would continue to do its best to improve teaching and learning.
Over the last few years, I believe our school that once ranked amongst the best schools in Osun State, Nigeria has now become just one of the public schools in town following the decay of infrastructure, facilities and poor staffing due to poor government attention. We shall not allow this situation to remain with our school.
On this note, I therefore humbly request all of us to take a deep introspection into what ought to be and where we are now. This might help us muster the courage to step up to the plate and do something profound for our alma mater. With our collective efforts, I see an Association fueled by the growing numbers of AHSO graduates that will outlive us, I see an Association that will be 100 years old and strong and still going!
I would like to appreciate your efforts made even before now in advancing development strides through scholarship endowment funds for pupils, motivation of our teachers by cash inducement and refurbishing of some dilapidated facilities in our school thus justifying the years spent by you in this esteemed secondary school. We also care about the welfare of our members through innovative schemes, as well as collaborations of members on economic and social fronts.
Special thanks go to 70/75 set for donating ultra-modern school gate to the school.
Sir/Madam, please permit me to seize this opportunity to thank the staff and management, the PTA team, our Royal Father, Olosu of Osu, Oba Jethro Adegoke Adejola, and the leadership of Osu Community Development Association for their support and encouragement so far.
